Dr. Yoomee Kim
Dr. Kim was born and raised on the Pacific Island of Guam. At fourteen, she left her island home to attend Phillips Exeter Academy, one of the nation's oldest and prestigious prep school. Since then, she moved every four years from one major city to another. After completing her pre-dental courses, she decided to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and had the opportunity to participate in a creative writing round table with Scott Turrow while attending Northwestern University.
Dr. Kim continued on to New York City and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, currently known as Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She then completed a General Dentistry Residency at Montefiore Medical Center – Jacobi Hospital, where she gained much experience in general dentistry, dental trauma, and special needs care.
Because of her love for working with children and especially for children with developmental disabilities, she furthered her dental education at the University of Southern California – Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles and completed her residency training to become a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. Today she is in private practice and also on staff at the Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite and Egelston campuses.
Dr. Kim loves traveling and has traveled to Romania, Honduras, Mexico, South Africa and Kenya on dental missions. In her free time, Dr. Kim enjoys hiking with her husband, reading, painting and music. Dr. Kim is Board Certified by the American Board and Pediatric Dentistry, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Ara Cho
Dr. Ara Cho graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with Specialization in Biochemistry in 2006. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA in 2010. During her fourth year of dental school, she served as a Preclinical and Clinical Teaching Assistant. Also, she was honored with the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Horace Wells Senior Student Award.
Dr. Cho completed two years of postgraduate residency and received a Certificate of Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center in Providence, RI in 2012. She stayed on as full-time faculty for an additional year, where she taught both pediatric dental residents and dental students. Dr. Cho worked in private practice in Chicago, Illinois for five years before relocating to Atlanta.
In her spare time, Dr. Cho enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Dr. Cho is a member of the AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), the ABPD (American Board of Pediatric Dentistry) and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
