About Doctor Yoomee Kim
Dr. Kim was born and raised on the Pacific Island of Guam. At fourteen, she left her island home to attend Phillips Exeter Academy, one of the nation's oldest and prestigious prep school. After completing her pre-dental courses, she decided to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and had the opportunity to participate in a creative writing round table with Scott Turrow while attending Northwestern University.
Dr. Kim continued on to New York City and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, currently known as Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She then completed a General Dentistry Residency at Montefiore Medical Center – Jacobi Hospital, where she gained much experience in general dentistry, dental trauma, and special needs care.
Because of her love for working with children and especially for children with developmental disabilities, she furthered her dental education at the University of Southern California – Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles and completed her residency training to become a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry. Today she is in private practice and also on staff at the Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite and Egelston campuses.
Dr. Kim loves traveling and has traveled to Romania, Honduras, Mexico, South Africa and Kenya on dental missions.
